Cuivre! had a hot time playing at the Atwater Fall Festival again this year. Literally. Temperatures were in the upper 90’s by the time the horn choir hit the stage.
The group opened with a set of Oktoberfest music, adding the Bohemian Polka to their repertoire. The second half of their performance consisted of more traditional fare, including the popular Fanfare from Rondeau by Moret and finishing with BJ’s favorite, Jerico.
Cuivre! will be making it’s second appearance at the Atwater Fall Festival this Sunday, September 27, 2015 at 1:30 p.m.
The group will have fun playing some Oktoberfest Musik as well as traditional music written or arranged for horn choir.
Cuivre! finished its Spring 2015 season with a performance at the Park Merced Assisted Living Facility in Merced, California. Selections included
Fanfare from Rondeau by Mouret; Hornpipe; Can-can; Hymn to the Night; Fantasia on This is My Father’s World; Amazing Grace; Le Rendevous de Chasse; Mon Coeur se Recommande a Vous; Come Again, Sweet Love Does Now Invite; Dueling French Horns; and The Drunken Dutchman
On Friday, April 25, 2015, Cuivre! performed as a featured group at the Merced College Band’s Spring Concert. After auditioning for Director Mark Doiel, the group was invited to perform. Cuivre! played “Fanfare from Rondeau” by Moret, Handel’s “Hornpipe”, and an arrangement of Offenbach’s “Galop Infernal” from “Orpheus in the Underworld”, more popularly known as “Can-can”.
