The performance opened with a set of Alphorn duets played by founding members Ken Mackie and John Gottschalk. Then the horn choir put on a show of Oktoberfest music arranged for horn choir, followed by more classical horn literature.

Playing this year were members (in alphabetical order): John Gottschalk, Marleen Isleib, Adrienne Lopes, Ken Mackie, and Kathie Mackie.

Cuivre! will perform next at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Turlock on Sunday, October 25, 2015 as part of their Oktoberfest celebration.

A Hot Time at the Atwater Fall Festival

Cuivre! had a hot time playing at the Atwater Fall Festival again this year. Literally. Temperatures were in the upper 90’s by the time the horn choir hit the stage.

The group opened with a set of Oktoberfest music, adding the Bohemian Polka to their repertoire. The second half of their performance consisted of more traditional fare, including the popular Fanfare from Rondeau by Moret and finishing with BJ’s favorite, Jerico.
